review 1: The author did a great job of describing the characters so that you felt you knew them. The author also described in great detail the landscape. The book was very enjoyable and easy reading. The main character is a retired policeman who gets drawn into trying to solve a disappearance of two little girls. As the story evolves you as the reader is trying to figure who could have kidnapped the girls as there were no clues. You really don't know who the main kidnapper is til just about the end of the story. The ending was quite different too.
review 2: This was a fairly good read which did keep me in suspense until the somewhat surprise ending. I do wish the kidnapped girls had been more in the story rather than just kids that were being searched for. Their true
... morepersonalities, especially Maya, were not really broadened. There was also some editing issues with this version, such as words in the wrong place or used in the incorrect grammatical way. Overall though, I did like the book and would try another written by this author. less
