review 1: Gary Foreman has been in the witness protection program since he was a teen. His father had testified against a mobster and then they had to disappear. Now, as an adult, Gary has started to have nightmares about a young woman in danger and he doesn't know who she is or why he is having these horrible dreams. When he confronts his father he won't speak about it but Gary's stepmother is concerned and gives him a photograph from those lost years. The woman in his dreams is in that photo. Now he must go "home" to find out why his life is being so disrupted by unbearable headaches and nightmares he does not understand. While it was an interesting story it moved slowly until the last quarter of the book when it picked up and I was unable to put it down.*Spoiler Alert*Be awar... moree that domestic violence plays a big part in this book but the bad guy gets his comeuppance and that is all we want, right?
review 2: This was our book club selection for the month. We thought we were getting something scary. This was not anything like what I was expecting, but that is not a bad thing. When the book first started I felt like I had walked into the middle of a conversation and I was completely confused. I felt like I had to pay very close attention at first to figure out all the characters and their multiple names.Once I got into the book, I couldn't put it down. The story line sucked me in and made me stay up very late one night trying to get it finished.I won't talk about plot and spoilers, but if you are looking for a great suspense this is your book. Give it a try. less
