review 1: I am a nerd, I know. I just find financial stuff so interesting. Downloaded this to listen to while mowing the lawn since nothing else was available. Interesting. I felt like I would have learned more if I was actually reading it and taking notes and really trying to digest it all. While listening I was prone to daydreaming and not paying attention so even though the author tries to simplify our country's economic system, it is still wildly complex and I had difficulty understanding it all.
review 2: An interesting read, and great for anyone who wants a quick primer on broad economic issues. It's intended for a general audience with no detailed economics knowledge, although to be honest some of the terms and concepts used were still a little too complicated for... more me (which probably says more about me than the book!). Definite slant towards the U.S. since this is meant for an American audience, but still appropriate for readers elsewhere since the the U.S. economy has so much more influence on the global economy than anywhere else in the world. less
