review 1: This is the first time I had read a suspense/serial killer novel. I thought it kept the suspense level well for most of the book. Due to the content, structure of the narrative, and structure of the chapters, this was a fast read. Additionally, when I finished the book, I was totally creeped out and the text stayed with me. I guess that is a good thing with a genre like this. You have to be prepared for the images to stay with you for at least a bit.The writing style and the storyline reminded me of a good cross between the TV shows "NCIS" and "Criminal Minds." I was happy with that because it was my high expectation going into this novel.Serial killers, high/graphic sexual content, psychological, suspense
review 2: Gregg Olson’s VICTIM SIX is about a serial
... morekiller and his wife, who assists him. I am not giving anything away because the author reveals this to the reader early on. He describes some horrific crimes. Two deputies from the sheriff’s office try to find the killer, known as the Kinsap Cutter, and the FBI also gets involved. Olson never does mention an FBI agent, which seems strange. All of the victims are kidnapped and one would think the FBI would have more than a cursory involvement. There are some procedural shortcomings to this novel, but you can just ignore them. I liked the female detective, Kendall Stark. I hope Olson writes about her again. less
