review 1: Wonderful book! I am not much of a non-fiction reader but I felt the need to branch out, so I chose this book. And I am glad I did! Being a dog owner, I am always thinking about what Clover is thinking. THe author, while a neuroscientist, explains things thoroughly and interestingly. I found myself thinking back on college psychology and biology classes, trying to dig up things learned long ago to help me understand this book at times. The author includes lots of anecdotes about dogs and his family that give this scientific book a personal note. If you have a dog or love dogs, check this one out!
review 2: A book I think most dog lovers will enjoy. Researchers conduct the first-ever MRI scans of fully conscious dogs to learn a little more about the bonds... more between dogs and humans. When the author (and principal researcher) discusses interacting with the test subject,his own family dog, I was reminded of some of my own dog's behaviors, and I feel I understand her a little better than I did a couple days ago. less
