review 1: So if you like the world of Blade Runner, you will probably like this gumshoe/noir novella about a pair of detectives in a future world where one of them is an AI. Many AIs exist in this future world, and not all are as they should be. While I liked this book, I picked it up on a Kindle Deal a while back, I found it hard to get into at times as I was not versed in the world and characters as much. I imagine they are fleshed out much better in the initial book in this series based on the Otto and Richards characters. I may look that one up to give the series another try. The book also could do with a bit more scrutiny on the editing front. Some typos or misplaced words broke up the stream of the story.
review 2: This short story was difficult for me to get
... more into initially. Disjointed at best and siince I typically read at night, it was frustrating to have to constantly go back a page or two to refresh my memory of the night before's reading. However, not all bad. Interesting to a point but I'm definitely glad it was a freebie. I enjoy some sci-fi and cop/murder-type stories but this was too disjointed to get my head around properly. Though that might change if I had done a straight read. I'm not about to give it another go, though. less

Good story, although I wish the ending had been better.
