review 1: This is a classic storyline of second chance romance but nicely done. I love second chances!Amelia left Kade at the altar on their wedding day and vanished from the small town they were both from. She felt his life as a navy seal took him away from her for far too long so she panicked and ran. Five years later she is back to attend to the family business and once again sees Kade, the love of her life and once again her feelings for him that laid dormant are pushed firmly to the frontline. The storyline then evolves of their rekindling of their romance with hurt feelings from the past explained and forgiven. However there were lots of issues to atone so this meant for lots of angst and frustration.I really loved Kade and his alpha ways but also his sweet and tender side that... more did not hide his true feelings and how he had always held Amelia in his heart. Amelia on the other hand was at times hard to understand and trying to decipher how she could have left him in the first place was a conundrum. However she did wean her way onto my good side and I found myself embracing her thought process and sense of humour. The romance, once re-established was hot and steamy that gave those ‘flip-floppity’ moments I adore in my romance novels. As I said this is a classic second chance storyline so no great surprises but it was still a fabulous read. The only hesitancy I had is the issue with Peyton which was unresolved and then the crazy ex of Amelia. Both of these had me scratching my head and that as a suspenseful part of the plot felt a little flat and unnecessary. Maybe the Peyton issue will be resolved in the next book which I presume will be Brody and Piper’s story?Overall a great second chance romance read with plenty of steam, romance and humour. I would definitely recommend this. Four stars
review 2: Have you ever day dreamed about how a guy would be totally devoted to you and no one else?? Well, that is how Kade is to Amelia in Bigger Than The Sky. Kade and Amelia had a rough start and Amelia ran away from what she thought was her problems, only to find out later that they were her only good things in her life. I love how Amelia had been long time friends with Kade's whole family and they had that connection, keeping them together through the years. This is such a feel good story that warms your heart and makes you fall in love with all the characters as soon as you meet them.Kade is such an Alpha Male and loves to show his dominance with Amelia. It takes Amelia awhile to realize that she still loves Kade. Amelia keeps wanting to try and blame everything on Kade and find reasons to not love him, but Kade always shines through. He is a good guy in this character and is totally devoted to making Amelia realize that he has still loved her all along. I just wanted to scream at Amelia at some points to wake up and realize what a good thing she had in Kade. All girls dream of a guy being like Kade, good looks, Alpha Male and totally devoted to Amelia. What more could a girl ask for. He was definitely protective of Amelia from the beginning and was not going to let anything happen to her despite what she though of him. This story has a HEA and I am so glad because both Amelia and Kade so deserve it!!! This book was such an easy reading book that it took me no time to read. I kept turning the pages wanting to know what was going to become of this couple. Harper Bentley wrote a very good feel good story that warms your heart!! I look forward to more from Harper in the future!! less
