review 1: The Krewe of Hunters is a group of FBI agents who specialize in paranormal investigations. They see and hear ghosts. When a mummified head is found in the dressing room of a western playhouse, Krewe member Jane Everett is sent to reconstruct the skull and determine who it is. She first meets antagonism from the local sheriff who considers her a hindrance to his investigation. But then murders occur and Jane pitches in to help Sheriff Sloan Trent. They find that the skull belongs to Sloan's ancestor who appears as a ghost to Jane and asks for her help. This was a suspenseful book as I tried to guess who the "bad guy" was. A total surprise.
review 2: I missed the rest of Jane's crew in this one. While I enjoyed it, I much prefer the whole crew investigati... moreng.Sloan & Jane are a good match though, and the story was very engaging. I really wasn't sure who the whodunnit was until the actual reveal, which was kind of nice. I usually have that figured out early on.I really enjoy this series. Looking forward to reading the next one. less
