review 1: I thought this was a well thought out mystery detective story along with that ghost element. I like the characters, Sheriff Sloan Trent, and Agent Jane Everett, and the fact that, although there was an attraction with the two, Heather didn't let it get too mushy as in some of her other stories. She focused more on her characters trying to solve the crimes and the murders taking place in that small western town of Lily, Arizona. I tried to solve the mystery myself but was surprised at the end result. What I wanted to see more of here was a little more ghostly involvement. Of course, The Krewe of Hunters are called in to help, as always. I did, however, notice a couple of hick-up's past the mid-way point of the story. All in all an enjoyable good read as most of Heather Grah... moream's books are.
review 2: Heather has me entranced. I love the paranormal stories that could be real, just that little twist to reality that makes it more than is revealed. This is the first in the Krewe of Hunters series - Jane Everett comes to an old west town to help identify a skull and runs into Sheriff Sloan Trent. Both are hiding secrets about themselves that ignite as they grow closer. I'll be continuing in this series! less
