review 1: Any time I see a Helene Tursten novel which I have not read, I look forward to devouring it. This one was fairly good, but in my opinion only, not as much of a page turner as the previous three I have read. It has to do with a dysfunctional family, basically, and the fates of the two children of that family. It was, I think, more a book which made me sad for the characters involved, rather than a thriller. It did give me a lot of food for thought about how parents can help or harm their children by their behavior.
review 2: Good read. Irene and family plus Irene and colleagues. Having read them all it was quite interesting that the book starts 15 years before it concludes so many things about the young Irene Huss and her world are reintroduced then to now a... morend second part of the case and characters. Fires terrify me so it was interesting.... Glad Sammie still plays his canine role. Feel that I have spent a cozy time with a couple of cases to solve and dear old friends.... less
