review 1: Press Here by Hervé Tullet is a interactive book for young readers. The readers follows instructions given by the book to help them get through it. The book can be thought of as a game for young readers, and can help them when it comes to listening to instructions. Dots are on a page and the children are informed to either press them, rub them, or turn the page and watch what changes happen when they do so. The book does a good job of praising the kids and telling them they are doing a good job as they go, which makes the children feel accomplished.The illustrations in the book are very simple. The background is white, and the dots on the pages are either yellow, blue, or red. I personally did not like this book. I felt the illustrations were boring and did not mak... moree the reader excited when going through the book. I would have like the background to be something other than just plain white, I feel the young readers would be more into the story if this had been done.
review 2: A wonderfully interactive book, Press Here requires an action to be done before every page turn. When the action is preform, the next page shows the result of that action. Shaking moves the dots while blowing the pages makes the rush away. Of course it takes a bit of imagination but even I as an adult loved the simplicity of following along with the instructions to see what lay ahead.The second time I read this book, weeks later, was just as enjoyable as the first. I was that oddball in Chapters giggling by the shelf and not even the slightest bit ashamed. I tilted, poked and pressed with joy just as I image any number of children would do in my stead. I highly recommend this book for both reading time as well to read alone. less
