review 1: The universe of Half World is genuinely creative and fascinating... [Spoilers]Souls endlessly cycle through three Realms: the Realm of Flesh, Half World, and the spiritual Realm. After they die in the Realm of Flesh, their souls go to Half World, where they must process their regrets before transcending into a ethereal spiritual realm of enlightenment, and after a period are reborn into the Realm of the Flesh. When the cycle is interrupted, the inhabitants of Half World are left stranded in their purgatory, waiting on a prophecy to restart the cycle. The protagonist is a young teen whose mother disappears one day, leading her to find out that her pregnant mother escaped from Half World back into the Realm of the Flesh 13 years earlier. Now she's been kidnapped by the power... moreful ruler of Half World..Very interesting idea! Wish it was longer and the world more developed.
review 2: loved it! Honestly, at first, after a few chapters, I was thinking, "What the heck is going on?! I don't understand!!!!" But I guess since I have a thing for animated novels anyways, it kind of seemed interesting and more fasinating as I read on. I fell in love with the character and I was so emotional while reading certain things in the book. It was overall an awesome story, but to be honest, the book is not for everyone! :D (I learnt this while we would tell our comments in our white pine book reading club back in 2011!) less
