review 1: I was skeptical at first of this book. It was a slow start for the first two chapters but once you get through those, it picks up pace and keeps you going. By the last chapter I was kind of dreading the end because who knows when the second book will be released! It has a fine plot and dynamic characters who just continue to grow as each line flows across the page. I recommend this book to all ages as it appeals to everyone and meshes well with how life is moving.
review 2: This was an exciting start to an intriguing new series of books. Sylas Tate seems to have a rather strict uncle who is very much a "Scrooge" character when we meet him and when Sylas happens upon Mr Zhi in his curious shop we hope this will lead Sylas to trace his mother who Sylas had believ
... moreed to be dead. However when Sylas is summoned into a parallel world by the Bell he finds himself embroiled in conflict which only he seems to have the magical power to resolve. I look forward to reading even more about Sylas and his new friends when the sequel comes out. Will Sylas see his mother again? Will Espen survive to prove himself loyal to the Suhl? Can't wait!!! less
