review 1: This novel was good, but it did leave me with a lot of questions. It begins with almost all of the population disappearing. Those who are left and are lucky enough to find each other must still fact the monsters that are out there. While trying to figure out what is going on so they can reset their world, they must also battle each other. There were a lot of questions left at the end. There is a sequel that helps answer a lot of those questions and it`s called Instinct.
review 2: The catastrophic events were all very interesting and the major characters fairly well done. But, for me, there were a lot of loose ends at the end with much unexplained or not fully explored. Young Robby's premise that the events were related to an alien invasion with the alien ess... moreentially gestating in the earth was fascinating but really not explored. That he is able to explain his ideas and convince a group of adults to support his plan to thwart the menace was difficult to believe. less
