Conquered Earth
review 1: I LOVED this book. It caught my attention on the first page by jumping straight into the action with an intriguing world and memorable and likable characters. I loved the setting and the concepts in the story. The idea of a "conquered Earth" where adults have had their minds taken over and kids are fighting to survive in the world is fascinating. It was a unique book, and I want to see how the story continues.
review 2: I read this after winning a copy from Goodreads Giveaways. I'm a middle school librarian and promptly ordered a copy for my library. It never stays on the shelf. The action is a non-stop thrill ride. Every chapter ending is a cliffhanger that leads into the next chapter. It has a good story line that keeps kids hooked. The dialogue, however,
... more is stilted and lackluster, which is why I only gave it four stars. All in all a fun book for action junkies and upper middle school age students. It moves very fast and jumps straight into the story. The violence and gore factor is there, it has TV language and romance. I can see it being optioned for movie rights. It reads a lot like a screen play. less
