review 1: The Severed Tower by J. Barton Mitchell was a thrilling read and an amazing sequel! It connected so well to the first book in the series, Midnight City. Even though I read the books at two separate times, it was incredibly easy to be pulled back into all the characters' lives. I loved that you begin to understand some of the mysterious backgrounds of each character, and even get to know new characters as well. And holy love triangles, plot twists, and all around beautiful moments! And though at times the relationships between characters can be tense, the Max and Zoey are still going strong, I love it!
review 2: Holt, Mira and Zoey are headed towards the Severed Tower, which is in the middle of the Strange Lands. If that is confusing then you know I felt. I did... more not know that this was the second book in a series and followed Midnight City. There isn’t any recap so if you haven’t read the first one, I’d suggest that you should. As far a dystopian novel goes; it is very detailed with good character development and action too. There are sci-fi and fantasy elements which makes this some book. less
