review 1: This was an interesting story that was bringing in some new characters who will clearly become more direct players in future novels. I liked the story overall but the main climax left me feeling unclear how I felt about what Higgins did. I don't want to be too specific as that would be an unnecessary spoiler. There was a wrap-up final type of ending but that was not really that unusual from how these types of novels usually end. I do think that future stories with these characters will be good and perhaps, the more I get to know them, the more emotional resonance they will have with me. Not one of my favourite Jack Higgins' novels but a good read nevertheless.
review 2: Having read the other Jack Higgins book, I think his writing is getting worse and the story
... moreis not really developed. This book is more like another one of those books just to put out on the market. The storyline itself is quite shallow and not well developed, and in many ways it is very superficial. I just think the author might consider developing other threats rather than the usual predictable threats i.e. Al-Qaeda. less
