review 1: As a huge basketball fan, I loved this book. However, I don't think it would be interesting at all to anyone who's not a fan of basketball. This team revolutionized the game of basketball in a way that was never seen before and never will be seen again. They were the first olympic USA basketball team to be made up of professional players. This spread the game of basketball all over the world and inspired kids everywhere to pick up a basketball. I was very curious to know more about what went on behind the scenes and this is what the book gave me.
review 2: Great reporting on a great team. In some respects his chapter on David Robinson, "The Christian Soldier and What Shall a Man Do with All His Gifts?" is the most interesting part of the book. McCallum does no... moret share Robinson's faith at this point, but he works hard at reporting, at understanding the other person and comes to this profound conclusion: "Robinson might be the truest Dream Teamer, a gentle and complex man from two worlds who lived the dream and, through the power of his own sweat and blood and faith, now gives a dream to others." less
