review 1: 3.5 stars. It took me way too long to get into the story, much longer than I expected. I've really enjoyed all previous installments in the series but I couldn't connect with Ginny as well as previous protagonists. Kai...seemed completely not-genuine until the end, despite the author's efforts to enamor the audience with a slew of flashbacks. But, once the action begin, I didn't want to stop reading. The writing spoke for itself. Also, Flannery and Callum? FRIGGING LOVE THEM. Kind of wish they were the main love focus of the story, rather than Ginny and Kai.
review 2: To be honest I was a little dissapointed with this book. So I actually hadn't reas the other books in the series becuase I found this one first and I didn't even know it was a series. That might ... morehave been the reason I was confused about some things like how mora was a oceangirl or something. What is that? I also didn't like the ending. I was glad there was an epilogue and it did help with some stuff but not all. Like what happened right after they got kai back? Did they go back home, what happened between Ginny and her mom, why didn't Ginny go to New York with kai, how the heck did she end up living in portland, why were flannery and callum staying at ella and lucas' house? I could go on and on with the questions I have. on the more positive side I really liked most of the characters especially Ella and Lucas, they were just so awesome! Overall I think it was a interesting and good book and I would have liked it a lot more if it didn't leave me with so many questions. less
