review 1: Like all Jaclyn Moriarty books, this one is quirky and mysterious and a whole lot of fun. It’s been so long since I read the other Ashbury books, I didn’t remember much about Lyd and Cass and Em (or Seb and Charlie), but even so I was fell right back into the larger story of hte Ashbury/Brookfield saga. The characters are so vibrant and distinct (and at times frustrating) that I was caught up in the fascination of Riley and Amelia just like the rest. I wanted to know who they were and what they were up to and how all of the pieces of the stories fit together. And the romance woven throughout added a lightheartedness to the story. The Irish convict history in Toby’s essay seemed out of place at first, but I knew it would come into play later on, so I didn’t skim/ski... morep it like I wanted to. I also loved the little throwbacks to the previous books as well as a few lines that hinted at some of the whimsical ideas in The Colours of Madeleine series!
review 2: Book Title: The Ghost of Ashbury HighAuthor: Jaclyn MoriartyLexile:710LStar Rating:3/5Paragraph #1: I thought the book was ok. Not my favorite but also not my least favorite. I thought it was ok because in the book it kind of got a little boring, because they don't really talk about anything other then the test that the kids are taking, and they don't really talk about the ghosts entil the end.Paragraph #2: My favorite part of this book was when they told us about the ghosts and about Amelia and Riley and how Amelia is a ghost. My least favorite part of this book is when they first tell us about Amelia and Riley.I would recommend this book to people who like to read about ghosts and death. A girl dies before all the kids were there and it sounds like it is her haunting the school's art room but it is actually the princaple. less

Ick. Zero plot. Zero interest. Zero of anything but really bad execution of a supposed story.
