Goodreads: For as long as she can remember, Jemma has been planning the perfect honeymoon. A fortnight’s retreat to a five-star resort in the Maldives, complete with luxury villas, personal butlers and absolute privacy. It should be paradise, but it’s turned into a nightmare.

Because the man Jemma married a week ago has just disappeared from the island without a trace. And now her perfect new life is vanishing just as quickly before her eyes. After everything they’ve been through together, how can this be happening? Is there anyone on the island who Jemma can trust? And above all – where has her husband gone?

My Review: I would like to thank Tina Seskis, Penguin Books and Sarah Harwood for allowing me the opportunity to read an ARC of The Honeymoon. I can confirm that I chose to read this ARC and all opinions in this review are my own and are completely unbiased.

The Honeymoon, The Honeymoon, The Honeymoon! Well, what can I say other than what a good blumming ‘one sitting’ read … wow! What I want to say about The Honeymoon is just how great a read it was for me due to the minimal amount of characters. This is a massive positive for me, that allowed me to follow the story at ease. I knew where I was with each character at all times and felt an instant connection to each of them.

The actual storyline was gripping, truly gripping and I sooooooo felt for Jemma. Put yourself in her shoes … you’re on your honeymoon in a spectacular and beautiful location (The Maldives) with your new husband who you wish you’d never married and then he disappears! Yup, you getting me? Good! Now you’re in Jemma’s shoes!

The setting as mentioned above, The Maldives, leaves you breathless and the descriptions are so vivid, you are there all the time from the beach hut to underwater snorkelling. Arrrrrrrrr, stunning and so beautiful!

So, The Honeymoon, to sum it all up is a cleverly written and intricate read that you will find hard to put down and with short chapters all the way through, you’ll finish each one with the intention of reading just one more – like me – and before you know you’re closing the back cover!
