review 1: 3.5 stars. What a clever story! It took me a while to get into it; the beginning was a little slow-paced, but Moriarty was building up the details to turn A Corner of White into a quirky, whimsical, and exciting tale. This book will require some book talking, but recommend this to avid readers, especially those who like stories with parallel universes, Alice in Wonderland-esque elements, and eccentric characters.
review 2: I really enjoyed this book. It seemed like a slightly grown-up version of Ophelia and the Marvelous Boy, a junior book that I read recently. I liked that Madeleine doesn't believe for a long time that she is corresponding with a boy from a different world. I didn't realize this was the first book in a series, so I was pleasantly surprised tow... moreard the end. Everything seemed to be coming to a close and all of the sudden a second book was being set up. less
