The Cambion Chronicles
review 1: I normally don't read Urban fiction because of the hip-hop lingo, slang, and lifestyle. It isn't my culture so I can't relate. I'm more of a Heavy Metal rocker fan. The cover is what drew me to the book. As I began to read I thought this book had promise, I found myself laughing at many comical and stereotypical parts. Reading further was a big mistake though. The language turned pervasive and raunchy. I wasn't connecting with any of the characters it was too fantastical. There was nothing believable about it. I know paranormal is pure fantasy but many authors have a way of making their world real; they pull you in and take you on a journey beyond what you can see and feel. I don't see myself continuing the series at all. I will stay with what I normally read. It certai... morenly isn't best seller quality, but if you want to read about Cambions (incubus) instead of vampires and werewolves then maybe this is for you. It most certainly was not for me.
review 2: Loved it - the dialogue, the characters - Samara, Caleb, Mia & Dougie. I cried when Nadine "passed" on. I cheered when Garrett got his ass literally kicked to Kingdom come. It is wonderful to read about inter-racial romance. I am a big fan. Sam's mom & dad are great additions to this story line. I love the fact that she is close to both her parents. I could go on & on. I look forward to reading the next installment. less
