review 1: When reading "The day the president was shot", one comes to learn the life and death of President John F. Kennedy. During the book, it describes his early life and early years of the presidency briefly. It talks about his years of deployement and the wins and failures of his presidency. Some of things the book talks about is the disaster at the Bay of Pigs. The book is mainly centered upon the days leading up to his death and after. It also follows his killer, Lee Harvey Oswald, and his life until he was killed. I really liked this book because of the in-depth description of Kennedy's early years and deployement. I also liked the book because, the description of his mid years and his early presidency years were also very eloquent. The passage on the tradegy of t... morehe Bay of Pigs really appealed to me. It is when Kennedy sent in many CIA members to Cuba for a mission, but the enemy was waiting for them. They were badly beaten and was an embarrassing moment in the Kennedy presidency. I didn't like how the author kept switching back to Lee Harvey Oswald's life. I would strongly recommend this book anyone who likes a biography about an amazing person murdered by an unforgiving killerBy: Arjun Patel
review 2: I really enjoyed this WAW possibility. I still remember the broadcast at school about Kennedy's assassination and resenting all the news coverage on the TV. I was too young to appreciate any of it, so this book was really interesting to me. And I think the kids will enjoy it, too. It has enough pictures and gruesome facts to attract them. This is a yes vote for me. In fact I wish it had gone further into Ruby's story and told us what happened to the Dallas governor who was hit with the same bullet that got Kennedy's back. less
