review 1: This book was excellent. I could not put it down! I was gripped from the very beginning. I was slightly confused about where the story was heading for a short time at the beginning of the book but that just made me want to continue reading. Tony McLean is an amazing character that is easily relatable despite his complicated background and unfortunate events that have affected his life. I just felt sorry for him. The main discovery in this book was about the serial killer and I was completely shocked I did not expect what happened. I'm a little disappointed as the novel ended on a cliff hanger and I don't have the next book to read. I will be buying that book as soon as I can to find out what happens! I strongly recommend the McLean series.
review 2: I'm hooked.
... more Creepy and disturbing but I loved every single moment of this second Inspector Tony McLean novel. The conversations between Hilton ( the psychiatrist ) and McLean are so well written you can literally see the white of Tony's knuckles appear on the page. This is well worth five stars - I urge you to read it although some translation may be required by some Sassenachs LOL. Needless to say I've already started on Hangman's Song, sometimes you just can't get enough of a good thing. less
