review 1: I had such high hopes for this book. A major let down it could have been so much better but it ended up not making a lot of sense I thought once I get to the end it will all come together but it didn't. The plot is good but it gets confusing and the end really didn't make much sense to me.It felt like to different books merged together unsuccessfully. I may try re-reading to see if I rushed through or something it just got so boring in my opinion.
review 2: I am not used to reading first person perspectives, but as I continued on it became less cumbersome for me to read, and I was able to settle into this stunning story. I was overwhelmed a number of times by the gripping narrative, the intricately constructed world of Shemaya, and the beautifully written chara
... morecters. There is a subtle intensity woven throughout the story that finally erupts into action as all the pieces fall into place. A few times I had to put book down altogether just so I could digest all that I was reading. It honestly blew my mind. It is Brek Cuttler's story that we follow and it is through her that we gain access to the lives of so many other souls. Brek is easy to identify with and share in her frustrations, or anger, or sorrows. This book tackles big questions of justice, belief, love, mortality, the human condition, what makes a good person, what makes a bad person, however; it does so in such a way that is exploratory rather than preachy. The Trial of Fallen Angels is a rich story that offers a refreshing take on what happens after death and the Final Judgement. I love books that make me think, that make me question my view and understand of life, and I absolutely loved this book. I don't believe that anyone can finish this book and remain unmoved or unchanged. less

Brek seeks justice and finds forgiveness. I enjoyed this novel and the premise of final judgement.
