review 1: This is one of those books which took me by complete surprise. Each time I put the book down, I could not wait to get back to it. I'll let you read the book to see if you liked the way the author presented the story, but for me, the book was terrific in it's overall message of forgiveness and love as being transformative powers.Look for the idea of how when we seek justice, we seek quite the opposite. Often in our quest to be seen as right or to prove ourselves right, we do so at the expense of negating the other persons life experience......for me, powerful stuff.I also enjoy when one authors themes are echoed in another....or vise versa. Marianne Williamson's "A Return to Love" holds true to Kimmel's idea that love is the only true and enduring thing we leave be... morehind.
review 2: 3.5 stars - The only way I can think to describe this book is that it is a good story but told in a bizarre way. There were times when I felt like I was lost and didn't follow what certain events or characters had to do with the overall storyline, but everything and everyone ties together at different points throughout the book. By reading the jacket, I never had a clue that the Holocaust was such a big underlying theme. It's definitely one that makes you think long and hard about how justice can affect people and the true meaning of forgiveness. less
