Poor Dirk isn't quite himself, you see. He used to be fifteen feet tall, covered in scales, with massive horns and glowing yellow eyes - now he's just a puny human boy that was found in a parking lot unable to even remember his name. Despite all of this, Dirk finds his way, even becoming friends with a few local kids - the goth girl he first mistakes for an actual vampire, his foster brother, even the baseball team captain (who only likes him for his tactical brilliance, of course). Even though he appears to be settling in to his new ... morelife as a human boy, Dirk longs to get back home, but will his attempts cost him the friendships he's discovered here on Earth?"
review 2: This was very funny. The Dark Lord of the Underworld finds himself trapped in the body of a middle school boy in a Safeway parking lot. CPS workers, when they ask his name, think he says "Dirk Lloyde" instead of "Dark Lord" and find him a nice foster family. He refers to his friends as his "minions" and does the evil laugh on the regular as he plots how to regain his throne from the do-gooder who stole it from him. Similar in tone to "I am a genius of Unspeakable Evil and I want to be Your Class President" but for a younger audience. Ends w/ a cliff hanger and the sequel recently came out. less
