review 1: Dark Lord by Jamie Thomson begins when a monster named Dark Lord gets hurt by a car. He gets sent to the hospital and tell him that he is a human and send him to the psychologist. He keeps on telling them that he is not a boy and reminds himself that he will get its powers back. How will Dark Lord survive? Will he get his powers back? I really do not know why a person would create a story like this. This book has no purpose but tale about a monster and people not understanding he is not human. I would give this book 1 out of 5 stars because all of book was really boring. Even though it has a lot of mistakes it is a great book for younger children to read. I would recommend this book to kids under the age of 10
review 2: The Dark Lord is in the middle of a battl
... moree when the White Wizard sends him to our world. Instead of being a powerful ruler that everyone fears he is now Dirk Lloyd, 12 year old boy. "Dirk" wakes up in a parking lot and is forced into the foster system and school. But he never gives up trying to be who he is meant to be -the Dark Lord.Has funny illustrations of what our world should look like in the eyes of Dirk. Told in standard chapter format, progress reports from teachers, diary entries and illustrations. Book is very descriptive and world building. There are also portions that describe an evil oil slick that makes people and animals crazy and mean. This oil slick is the same spot where the Dark Lord fell to earth. less
