review 1: I won this book on Goodreads, so it was a win-win for me. I enjoyed this book, it was interesting. The beginning was a little bit slow. Without giving to much away, this novel was...strange. The novel picked up in the middle. The ending was sudden. And the ending, i was not satifised with it. It was heartbreaking. So pick this book up, the reason why i gave this 3 stars, because i did not like the time period it was written in...i just cant. Im sorry. This wasn't my cup of tea, but for those folks who enjoy this type of thing, run out and grab a copy. Please follow me on instagram at haha_harman. I have fandom account. review 2: I had high hopes for this book. I really did. Sadly it disappointed me. 45
... more5 pages was way too long. I think the story could have been written in 300 pages. There was too much drama - and frankly the part about Rosamunds' brother and Christopher Marlowe was unnecessary. The story was true and the details historically accurate - but it was just too long and moved a bit slowly at times. Perhaps I'll try another of her books again... less

One of the better historical romances I have read in years. Quite absorbing and detailed.

If we were giving stars for boring, I would have given this book 5.
