review 1: I have really enjoyed Jane Feather's books. That is, until this one. First of all, the story was at least 200 pages too long. It went on and on. The story of the last brother to marry an unsuitable bride was disappointing. As I was reading it I felt that the author, Jane Feather, was just filling in the rest of the story to "get it out of the way." Not as good as the first two books in the trilogy.
review 2: main character is librarian. Archaic Vocabulary though out. For example: anodyne, for bland;valetudinarian, person with poor health obstreperous, hostileIs the level of graphic sex because these are fallen women or just because those are the conventions of romances of 20th century.This was the final of series and while at the conclusion of the book,... more the Uncle dies, the reader is not directly told that the inheritance is fulfilled. less
