review 1: Sequel to Foiled. Avery the troll owes Aliera his life, but now that she knows what he really is, Aliera doesn’t want anything to do with him. We don’t always get what we want though, and Aliera must trust Avery to help her when she gets kidnapped by more trolls. Aliera must again become the Defender to help rescue her cousin, and learn still more about the strange powers and responsibility bestowed on her with her new foil.
review 2: Art that features entirely too many scenes of wooden faced characters just sitting or standing around while the talking goes on and on turns this sequel into a drag. I think it might have been better as a prose novel rather than a graphic one, since the overall plotline, the cast and the theme of ambiguous loyalties/identities... more are well enough developed. Also there some humorous elements (the little guys, mostly) that lighten the load, but seem an awkward fit. less
