Stephanie Plum
review 1: Stephanie Plum is trying to locate Jimmy Poletti, a car dealer turned criminal. She needs the payday from her cousin the bail bondsman. But Jimmy's friends are all dying suddenly, and now his accountant, obnoxious short person Randy Briggs, is determined to have Stephanie protect him. More significant, her friend Ranger is in trouble. Stephanie has helped him pick up a fugitive who then tried to poison all the Rangeman employees. But someone else must be behind the crime. Stephanie even makes rare forays into New York in this one.
review 2: There is incredibly limited character development. There are some tropes (exploding cars, Lula's spandex, Stephanie's mother's alcoholism, etc...) But what's true is there are several times in this book (and just about
... more every one in the series) where I laugh out loud and shake my head. Though I wish that Stephanie, Ranger and Morrelli could sit down and negotiate something that could work for all of them, I suppose I will continue to read this silly series... less
