review 1: Basically, if you like Evanovich's Plum novels, you enjoy very light funny easy reads with no real complexities and aren't in it for the romance, check out this series. The main difference with this one is the paranormal aspect, which isn't quite as much as I'd like, but I'm mostly in this series for the fact that it makes me laugh. I was pretty bummed at first without Lulu there, but I find myself starting to really like Glo. The romance triangle is pretty much the same as the Plum novels, so if you want something to actually happen, you'll have to look elsewhere.
review 2: Ditto my review of Wicked Appetite. Clever, witty, and a few laugh-out-loud moments. I do like the author's writing style, but this series is much like the Stephanie Plum series, with ... moremagic. Diesel and Carl the monkey from the Plum between-the-numbers books are primary characters, along with Lizzy who is a cupcake baker instead of a bounty hunter. Still the book is an easy read - good for a beach read or if you're looking for something light. less
