Soul Sisters
review 1: Dana and Ani. Soul sisters literally, with Ani being created from a portion of Dana's soul. The premise on this vampire story is a new and refreshing idea on how vampires are created. After Ani kills a would be rapist of Dana's and then kills a witness to the murder, the Creator decides it's time for Ani to die (which means that both sisters would die). In order to protect themselves, they enlist the help of a former body guard and a werewolf to go after Donovan (the Creator). I liked the story and would have given it more stars, but there were a lot of spelling and grammar errors that really detracted. The story also felt rushed and disjointed. A lot of things were not explained. How did Dana wind up with the super strength while they were training? How did Donov... morean get into the condition he was in at the end? With major editing and a bit of a re-wright, this book could definitely become a 4-5 star book.
review 2: I loved this book and the fact that Janiera puts so much thought and details in how she writes. "She would live as long as her sister did but would still have those annoying human hygiene issues like deodorant and cellulite. Her body would not age past the point of 25 but that still didn't keep the belly fat completely away." I cried for Dana in one scene when she was told that her husband would not be gifted with eternal life like she would be. "I cannot give him eternal life, I can only offer that to you and your soul sister. My people are only responsible for restoring his health and giving him a second chance at life." I loved the flashbacks of Dana and her life before she was eternal. Well done Janiera I truly enjoyed this book! less
