Bones of Faerie
review 1: So much darker than the first book. I like that. No more silly or funny scenes in this sequel, the author just goes straight for the murderous sadistic games of the fae. It is twisted and delicious.I also appreciated the character of Liza. She was never too stupid to live, nor was she perfect. She screwed up, kept trying, made tough choices, and slowly grew and changed through it all. She is a cool chick. I really loved her relationship with Kyle, who was adorable and I want to adopt. The love story is still very minor, to non-existent in this book. I can see it becoming something in the last book.
review 2: This is the second book in the Bones of Faerie Trilogy that follows sixteen year-old summoner Liza through a post-apocalyptic journey. After the events of t
... morehe first book, Liza has brought seasons to a place where leaves never used to change color. Unfortunately, when she did this, she brought Winter to her world and the world of Faerie. With nowhere to look to remember how to turn to spring, both worlds begin to die.The author's purpose in writing this book was to show readers that even when all hope seems lost, there is always something to live and fight for. Like Liza with Matthew and her mother.I picked the first book up sometime in middle school because it looked interesting. It was a really quick read and I just recently discovered that it was part of a trilogy, so I had to read more. When I ordered the second one, the third had not come out in paperback yet, but I think it is now, so I will have to check on that. Anyways, I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants a nice, quick, fantastical read. This book only took me a day to read, but it was quite the adventure, as it also features a little teenage romance. less

Interesting blend of fairy tale and dystopia. A bit of a dark read edged with hope.
