review 1: Ugh-don't know where to start with this one! I have so many issues with this story that I am having a hard time making my way through it-disturbing and annoying on so many levels. Big picture, I am disturbed by the treatment of the "homo"sexual themes in the story-which honestly just seem to exist to give the women something on which to get-off. Starting with the three functionally hetero men being portrayed as big, tall and hugely hung while the functionally homo men being the smaller, less "gifted" of the group. One more description of James' small size is going to make me throw my reading device! Next, each of the het men have stories devoted to development of his relationship with his "true love". James and Neil? Nothing. They didn't rate a story of their own?! They are... more introduced in the series as already being life partners but there is little to support that. James seems to be a plaything and supporting cast member most of the time, even in his own story! It seems more of the story of Neil and Devon than James, Neil and Devon. I felt bad for James and wished he would move on and find a partner that was as sprung on him as the other guys were on their women-including Neil on Devon. Neil doesn't do BJs. Yeah, we don't really want him to appear "too" gay . The love and devotion the other couples exhibit with one another just doesn't exist in the same way with James and Neil. Though the crew are sexually active with one another, they each are quick to assure their partners that they don't NEED those encounters. Don't get that same primary focus thing with Neil for James. There is one male/male relationship in the entire series yet the author chooses that relationship to turn into a menage-as though their coupling can only be complete with a woman somehow a part of it. Pissed. Me. Off. If you can't commit to having a primarily same-sex couple, don't write one in!I have a love/hate relationship with menage stories because developing the relationships in a realistic way that addresses the jealously inherent in a multi-partner situation requires skill that is often lacking. This installment destroyed all the fun of the series for me.
review 2: Okay, is anyone more lovable than James? Out of the whole crew and their mates, he is the one everyone feels close to and always finds himself in the centre of all the attention!! The fact he didn't recognize Devon's devotion to him earlier is shocking, as he is usually in tune with everything, but he must have been distracted by making sure Neil was happy. And Neil, you never saw his attraction and love for James before but never as he expressed it here, it was as if you saw into their hearts. While this book is titled for Devon, it really is James' story with Neil and Devon interacting with and around him! less

Great addition to the series. There just seemed to be some time gaps that confused me.
