review 1: This book was an okay read. I didn't dislike it, and I do like Jean Reynolds Page, but there was some parts that I wished the author would elaborated on. For example, Rosalind's illness was never brought out in the open and it was hard to understand why exactly they need the money for. The story about the family and Luke was very interesting to me, I felt sorry for him for being dragged all over while he was living under his grandparents, yes they loved him, but they did everything to protect Mont and not bother to care about Luke's feelings. I think the ended was just right for Luke's sake.
review 2: Good book, great story, great characters, but it ended just too abruptly. Could be because on the Nook it said it had 50 more pages, but that was all other stuff
... more and I didn't realize that, but still, it just seemed like it needed more closure than it gave, or you wanted more. Definitely worth the read, lots of "oh my" or "are you freakin' kidding me" moments, lol. And for a Free Friday Nook book, well worth the price, lol! less
