review 1: This book was very exciting, a lot of action, it would definitely make a good movie. However, there was too much violence in it for me and to me it was complicated. I had trouble knowing who was who, etc. Everything is explained in the end and it was a good mystery, but it is just not the type of story I care for. I did not feel that I really knew the characters and, to me, the story line was weak, but it was definitely not boring.
review 2: Alright, so this is the second Sam Capra novel. Let's just say the first was a lot better than this one. It seemed like Abbot got lazy while writing this, and figured since the first one was pretty good, this one could slide by. Don't get me wrong, this is a...good...novel, but it's not as good as it could have been. Ab... morebott is a great author, and I don't understand why this book is average while all his others are on par. First off, Mila has become soft and I don't appreciate the way she is portrayed in this book. You can tell that in the next few books, she's going to become a weak character who lets her emotions get in the way of her work. That's just my opinion anyway. In the conversations with Leoine, that's the way it seems to me. There's a lot of he said she said in this book. What I mean is a lot of dialogue, and after every line, it's he said. Or she said. Like the reader won't understand that alternating dialogue lines are different people speaking. I don't know, that just irked me for some reason. And the plot for this was so scattered. Too many different things were happening at the same time, and in the end everything ends up working out in their favor anyway. Like the circumstances weren't important. Plus, the fact that the setting was displayed in front of every chapter was annoying. That wasn't in the first book, and I think it's was fine without it. The setting would have been mentioned in the chapter if it changed anyway. So I saw no real point for that.Because of the little things that annoyed me, and the fact that this plot wasn't as good as I thought it could be, I will give it a 3/5. less
