review 1: Not just another self-help simplifying book by a gal. Nope this is by a guy with a strong entrepreneur spirit so you get a solid book, clear theory and excellent examples of real world businesses that have sprung out of generosity and trying to take one person's excess and give it new life. I highly recommend this book to any adult/teen who has desire to start their own business. And for any everyday person looking to be inspired in a different way as they consider "what is enough?" This book is great. My only downside is there aren't enough examples or ideas of low key ways to pass along your stuff - his push is to have relationships and mix into communities where you can understand & provide. I love that but as he writes there are logistical divisions in communities too ... morethat sometimes makes that hard and relationships take time to evolve & grow so where to share/give excess in meantime?
review 2: A good read with several good points to consider. Shinabarger doesn't guilt trip you in this book, but rather challenges your viewpoint on excess and makes you consider what is enough. He states that it is alright to have excess, but asks how you are using your excess. Much of the book is based on experiments he, or people he knows, conducted to see what it means to live with less so that others may have more. I enjoyed reading this book. less
