review 1: Lincoln Rhyme in the Caribbean? Is he on vacation or on the the job? Read the book and find out. I cannot recall from previous books in the series if Deaver had used a ploy that he uses here so effectively. If he did he probably did not use it as much as he does here. What I am talking about is the cliffhanger chapter, where he ends a chapter leaving the reader wondering what happened while he goes off onto something else in the next. This leaves the reader itching to get to the next chapter to find out what happened. Very effective hook that keeps the book moving at a great pace. Overall this has been a great series and definitely a solid four stars all the way throughout.
review 2: Jeffrey Deaver, in "Killing Room" (Lincoln Rhyme Series Book 10), sets the sta
... morege for not only political intrigue, but covert action that spans territory from New York to D.C. to Mexico and the Bahamas. This story has plots within plots that wind through labyrinths of mind games and deceit. Although this book is intense in its delivery, there are still a few of the comedic moments we have come to expect from Rhyme and his cohort, Amelia Sacks. Excellent, fast-paced read in classic Deaver style. less

I generally love Jeffrey Deaver's work. This one made me work too hard to appreciate it, though.
