review 1: Billed as a follow up to the 'bone collector' , it isn't really and is more a follow on from one featuring the watchmaker that I haven't read. I was disappointed because there seemed little working out like in the bone collector and Rhyme just 'knew' what was going to happen and who was involved. It was all too convenient and left me feeling slightly left out of the story and more of an onlooker,whereas the bone collector felt more involving. It hasn't convinced me to read any more Deaver
review 2: This was another wonderful Lincoln Rhyme novel, which has many, many near death encounters which reminded me of the serials I used to watch when I was a kid (Flash Gordon, Gene Autry, etc) where the hero is in an impossible situation at the end of an episode and ama... morezingly gets out of harms way at the next episode). Some villains from the past emerge as well. When the book ends, there is no doubt that there will be another one. less
