review 1: This was a nice change from the usual vampires, werewolves, witches, etc. Instead we get a world where the descendants of the gods/goddesses from various world pantheons exist in secret alongside regular humans. Nikki Glass makes for a rootable heroine. She's skilled as a P.I. but she's not overly badass and she knows it. She's smart enough to know when to keep her attitude in check and her sense of self-preservation is developed enough so that she knows when it's in her best interest to keep her mouth shut. That alone differentiates her from her UF counterparts in my opinion and I could respect her for it. I think I can see where the love interest angle is going and if I'm right, I'm not feeling it at this point. That said, there was enough good series potential he... morere that I will be checking out book two.
review 2: I was a bit confused about some things in the story but all in all I think it was okay. Nikki is a strong woman and its good because all the guys are descendants of gods and goddesses so its just fitting for her character. I really like the concept of gods and goddesses so I was quite intrigued on how the story goes, quite disappointed that theres not so much romance in this book though but I really like the characters. :) less
