review 1: A good second book - there is some awkward introspection-style to the writing at times and there were a couple of moments where I felt Nikki backed off, retreated, or made a stupid decision that wasn't entirely consistent with her character, but overall good story advancement and pace. Lots of shared frustrations and engagement with the different characters - looking forward to reading the second.
review 2: Audiobook read by Sophie Eastlake. I went from really liking the book to being annoyed with Nikki. Still enjoying the world building and some of the characters. Disturbed that I know so little still about people that Nikki is living with to the point when some character names mentioned I can't even really recall who they are. Got the first 3 audiobooks o... moren great Tantor sale so will definitely listen to the next one. less
