The Jane Austen Diaries
review 1: Another amazing Jane Austen Diary entry. I completely and totally loved this one. In "Pride and Popularity," I didn't actually like Emmalee, but I enjoyed seeing her grow and change into another person throughout this book. The part I like most, is that James made it gradual enough, that you started to like her more and more as the book went on.In this book, Emmalee, or Emma, becomes friends with one of the less popular girls, Hannah, and, with some unexpected twists and turns, tries to get Hannah to go out with the student body president. Not thinking she will ever fall in love, Emma believes it is her life's duty to try and get other people together and be happy. Unfortunately, Her life-long friend, and "knight in shining armor" doesn't think that she should be meddling ... morein other people's lives.I cannot express how much I am in love with these books. I love Jane Austen and love these books just as much. I cannot wait to finish reading the whole series. If you are looking for quirky, cute, easy, YA novels to read, I would highly recommend these ones.
review 2: This was the first one i read in the series but later i found out it was the third book... Ok so I don't like reading books about popular kids, but Emmalee i liked. She is confident and loves her family and friends but she judges others too quickly and comes to her own conclusion on things. I hate that Chase keeps getting mad at her but doesn't tell her why... Well she knows what he gets mad at her for she just doesn't know why he gets so mad at things. I think everyone was just over reacting about some of the stuff she was doing, maybe that's because i would of done it too but if people would of told her in the beginning hey be nicer because blah blah blah then she would of realized sooner!!! But i really liked how Emmalee grew up and took everything, i would not of gone as quiet... But I really liked her because of how she handled everything. less

I like the idea of modern Jane Austen re-tellings, so in that way, I enjoyed this book, mostly.

Great for teens but I'm inspired to go read Jane Austen

A bit predictable, but okay for a no brainer type read.
