review 1: I just finished this book last night and I am still reeling. I just can't believe that this series is over! I loved it so much. Jennifer is an amazing writer, she has a serious talent for weaving such emotional, vivid, and interesting stories. I just love the way she describes the settings in the book and has facts to add that don't take away from the plot or character development. When I started the Wild Rose, I was slightly concerned that it may not be the conclusion to the series that I was hoping for. The first few chapters contained a lot of dialogue that I thought was just going to be useless filler. I was happy to find out that I was wrong, though, and all the dialogue served it's purpose to the development of the story.I really did love this story and all of its dra... morematic twists and turns, which held me until the very last page. I think the best thing about this series is that each book, although similar in structure, is so vastly different from the other. I think I will have to read them again, because I might actually miss the characters!
review 2: As the third book in the "Rose" series, I found myself really struggling to get through. . . not that I didn't like it, but I believe I was just tired of the whole story. This last book seemed to have a lot of repetitious "fluff" mixed in to give the book some added thickness, and the coincidental circumstances started making me roll my eyes as I worked my way toward the end. It took me way too long to get to the last chapter, because I didn't look forward to getting back into the story like I did the first two books, and I nearly gave up about 3/4 the way through. However, Jennifer Donnelly deserves 10 stars for her research which lists at the end of the book. The political and historical background of all three of her Rose books was amazing. less

#3 in the Tea Rose series -- about the younger brother. Great story, hard to put down.

A good read if you like historical fiction. Held my interest. A soap opera on paper .
