review 1: Although Once Upon A Lifetime begins in the present day, the reader and the story's main female character, Amy, are quickly transported back to the 19th Century with the help of a leprechaun named Patrick.Amy now has a week before Patrick can magic her back to the present day but unfortunately she is just about to meet Damien, who will mistake Amy for her mother and arrest her for murder!Although this sounds a complicated plot, Jennifer Kitchens delivers it effortlessly, with a constant momentum. Confusion about the modern and past worlds between Damien and Amy generates some hilarious moments and the tentative way their relationship evolves from prisoner/captive to friends is charming and sweet. Both Damien and Amy have strong personalities and I enjoyed their loud discus... moresions as much as their tender moments.Aside from being an historical romance, Once Upon A Lifetime has a sense of mystery as Amy contests her mother's guilty verdict and attempts to find the true murderer.Once Upon A Lifetime is an enjoyable story and I thank Jennifer Kitchens for my review copy.
review 2: Amy gets twisted back into time where she is accused of being her mother, who supposedly has murdered her fiancée (Amy's father). When Amy is apprehended by Lord Damien to be brought to justice and hanged for her crimes, she is desperate to get him to believe her ‘unbelievable’ tale and help her seek justice. But who believes in leprechauns?This fun story mixed the future into the past with likable characters. Amy’s a cute, quirky heroine and Lord Damien is a great hero who is torn between his attraction for his prisoner and his duty to see justice done. As they make their way toward London and trouble waylays them, Damien sees Amy in action and must make a decision. Refreshingly clean. less
