review 1: If you're familiar with the Minnesota State Fair and like mysteries this quirky story is the book for you. Mira James, a reporter from small town Minnesota is covering the State Fair for her local newspaper. When one of the Milkfed Mary, Queen of the Dairy candidates is found murdered in the Mrs. Butterworth booth (an octagonal refrigerated booth where the candidates' heads are carved in butter ), Mira sets out to solve the case. Full of regional humor and funny characters.
review 2: A cute mystery- if one can consider a murder mystery "cute". I picked this up on a whim since it was free in the kindle store. While I enjoyed the story I would hardly put her on Janet Evanovich's level. Evanovich is much more evolved with her humor and characters, whereas I cou
... moreldn't feel the same about Mira as I would Stephanie Plum. This book is good for a quick read however and I did enjoy the story. less
