review 1: What can I say about Body Games? It's freaking awesome! Jessica/Jill is a great author who gave me an ARC copy to read about her next installation of Games series. I have to say that I've never seen the shows but if they did them like she wrote in her books, I would be more interested in seeing that. Especially this last one. >:D In Body Games, we see the return of Jendan Abercrombie, the all around good guy stunt man, who we first saw in Bedroom Games. This time he feels that it is his turn to win, even if it means that he might have to play the bad boy.Our Heroine is Annabelle Tucker. She was burned before on the first season of Endurance Island and she wasn't looking to repeat the experience. But the execs are desperate and they make a juicy offer that a... more struggling college student can't turn down. This time, Annabelle was going to play the way the game should have been played. The game has an interesting twist on how they have to participate.Jessica writes hot scenes but she throws in humor too. I've often found myself laughing out loud as I've read. You will eat this book up and want more. This is a standalone but it doesn't hurt to read the others as they have the same sexy humor that Body Games has. Ms. Clare has several other series out under Jill Myles or Jessica Sims that are worth checking out as well. You definitely won't be disappointed.
review 2: This the first book I read in Jessica Clare's Games series. The story is of Annabelle, who is college age and participate in a reality TV show (a la Survivor). During the show, Annabelle fell for a another contestant and felt she had a real connection with him. As the show aired, she comes to find out she was "played" and was made to look like someone who relied solely on sex appeal to get ahead. So when she gets a call to come back for another season, she reluctantly goes on the show but has the mindset to show she is smart and can play the game and to exact revenge on Kip (who had faked a relationship with her to get her vote). When I read the first few chapters, I was worried I was not going to like Annabelle. She seems to have quite a bit of self pity I didn't think I was going to be rooting for her. However, as the story progresses we see Annabelle's character change and grow or maybe she just starts to let her true colors shine through. I now feel the author (Jessica Clare) made that choice to let us see the growth and progress that Annabelle makes throughout the story. I enjoyed our hero, Jendan, so much. He was just a gem of a guy. One aspect of the story I had a problem believing was that the contestants on the show would have to be naked. Otherwise, I liked how the story and Annabelle developed. This is definitely a fun and interesting read.I was given an ARC of this book for an honest review. less
