review 1: This edition of the Games Series takes place on an ice skating version of Dancing with the Stars. Zara is a former Olympian whose childish outburst on a performance gone wrong has destroyed her career; she has a second chance via this dance competition and is determined to rebuild her name in the ice skating community. Ty is an MMA fighter whose reputation has gone down the toilet a la a Mike Tyson biting scandal. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I laughed out loud at their first drunken encounter and was impressed with Zara's determination to make the most of her partner. My heart melted a bit when Ty stuck up for Zara when she wasn't included at the party. Their chemistry was steamy from the beginning. I was a bit confused at the end why the one judge gave them cra... moreppy marks throughout if she didn't, in fact, have a grudge against Zara as we were lead to believe. I also was a little irritated with Ty when he was mad at Zara for 'running away' for two weeks when he made no attempt to reach out to her. But their reunion was an enjoyable scene and overall I still loved the story.
review 2: MMA Fighter with a bad reputation turned Ice Dancer paired with an Olympic wash-up with bad juju? It’s an interesting combination. I've like these books very much. Because the stories are based on really TV shows they're very fast paced and funny and I hope that Jessica reaps the fruit of over a decade’s worth of so many of these programs. This one in particular though felt a bit lacking. Perhaps because of the nature of this particular type of show the excitement factor wasn’t that high. I also felt the characters, though loveable, fell a bit flat. less
